Certified Hand Therapist
Our Occupational Therapy program includes Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) Nancy Albin.
A Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is an occupational therapist or physical therapist who has a minimum of five years of clinical experience, including 4,000 hours or more in direct practice in hand therapy. In addition, the Certified Hand Therapist has successfully passed a comprehensive test of advanced clinical skills and theory in the rehabilition of upper extremities. Because of new technology and information that changes in the profession, every CHT is required to complete continuing professional development classes and demonstrate competency by recertifying every five years.
Nancy Albin attended Louisiana Tech University and received her degree in Occupational Therapy from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. In 2007, Nancy obtained an additional Certification in Hand Therapy through the national Hand Therapy Certification Commission. She is a specialist in treating injuries of the hand, wrist and elbow and has worked in the Houston area the entire duration of her career and is happy to call Spring her home.
