Timothy Monk, Jr., Endurance Athlete
Timothy Monk, Jr. is a local athlete residing in The Woodlands, TX with his family. Tim's history with athletics began in 2002 with his first marathon. Since then he has competed in three Ironman triathlons and fulfilled his ultimate dream as a competitor in the 2009 Ironman World Championship in Kona. Today he continues to stay active with training and his commitment to a healthy lifestyle.
Tim is not only successful as an athlete but has found success and passion in sports nutrition. While working for Douglas Laboratories he launched Klean Athlete, the first sports nutrition brand focused on the holistic health of athletes. "We simply wanted to create a line of products that you could feel good about using every single day. Before you can get faster, you first need to be healthy." Klean Athlete just announced a partnership with Major League Baseball to bring players clean options for their sports nutrition.
SROSM's Dr. Keith Johnson said, "Tim is a great asset to our community. He is a good father and man, and I admire his passion and commitment in promoting healthy nutrition and living. Athletes need to be educated about the importance of safe supplements and its proper usage. Tim is accomplishing this through Klean Athlete. Personally, I have enjoyed our friendship while training for endurance competitions together."
